Flag of Abderraman III

During the Caliphate period a number of flags were created, most o f them displaying elements from the Omeyan tradition. Originally the white colour was chosen as main standard of the Caliphate while other carried inscriptions from the Quran . After the Osma campaign the green islamic flag with the aigle was adopted as a banner fro the Caliph.
